Call for Host Applications: UNIVERSEUM Annual Network Meeting 2025

We are pleased to announce the call for applications to host the upcoming UNIVERSEUM Annual Network Meeting in 2025. Since its inception in 2000, UNIVERSEUM has served as a pivotal network for European university heritage professionals and scholars, fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the exploration of local university heritage across Europe.

**Guidelines for Hosting**

The annual UNIVERSEUM Network Meetings are designed to:
– Provide a forum for discussions on European university heritage
– Facilitate the sharing of experiences and knowledge among professionals and scholars
– Offer opportunities for Working Groups to convene and discuss their ongoing initiatives
– Showcase local university heritage through visits to institutions, projects, and challenges
– Expand the UNIVERSEUM community by welcoming new members

**Dates and Duration**

The Network Meeting typically spans three days in June, encompassing Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

**Host University Responsibilities**

The host university is expected to:
– Establish a Local Organising Committee (LOC) and appoint a Chair
– Collaborate closely with the UNIVERSEUM Executive Committee (EC) on determining the theme and objectives of the meeting
– Provide necessary facilities including an auditorium for plenary sessions, rooms for Working Groups, and equipment such as PC projectors and internet access
– Host the UNIVERSEUM Executive Committee meetings
– Ensure all materials feature UNIVERSEUM’s approved logo and adhere to the guidelines set forth by the Executive Committee

**Programme Structure**

The programme will include:
– Opening session with addresses from the UNIVERSEUM President, Local Chair, and a representative of the host university
– Local session presenting the heritage of the host university/region/country
– Working Group sessions, Ordinary General Assembly, and visits to local heritage sites
– Chaired poster sessions and thematic paper presentations

**Application Process and Timeline**

Interested universities are invited to submit their applications by [Deadline]. Applications should include:
– Proposed theme and objectives for the meeting
– Overview of the proposed LOC and Chair
– Description of facilities and accommodation options
– Preliminary ideas for the programme structure
– Commitment to meet the financial and organizational requirements outlined by UNIVERSEUM

**Calendar Overview**

– ‘Save the date’ announcement: Immediately after decision (Ordinary General Assembly)
– Call for papers, preliminary programme, and website launch: October [Previous Year]
– Deadline for papers submission: February [Same Year]
– Announcement of accepted papers: March [Same Year]
– Registration period: January to April [Same Year]

**Language Requirement**

All materials and papers must be in English.

**Proceedings**

The LOC may choose to publish the proceedings, subject to discussion with the UNIVERSEUM Executive Committee.
